In February 2003, Raynesway Construction was awarded a ten-year framework agreement with BAA, the international airport group. The award followed our successful completion of 12 previous discrete projects for BAA in Scotland, worth over £6 million in total.
The tender process took place over a period of nearly two years. It rigorously examined every aspect of our organisation, our people, our capabilities and our commitment to partnering.
Under the arrangement, we work in partnership with BAA as part of the Pavement and Infrastructure Team. We deliver maintenance works at its three Scottish airports - Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The estimated value of the deal, which can include "local projects" up to £1 million, is £35 million over the ten-year period.
The partnership is part of a series of "Second Generation" framework agreements. These offer the opportunity for suppliers to work with BAA for a substantial period of time, subject to delivery of appropriate performance. The emphasis is on the total integration of BAA and its supply chain, thus promoting continuous improvement over the long term.
