Gourock Station Renewal

Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering is carrying out station renewals work at Gourock railway station for Network Rail.

The design and construction contract for at the railway station includes renewal of platforms, overhead line equipment, canopies and covered walkways.  Set to complete in winter 2011 the new station will improve facilities for passengers at Gourock and allow for better integration of road, rail and ferry links.

The project also includes the replacement of north and south boundary walls to allow unobstructed views of the waterfront area.

In addition improvements to the sea defence wall and demolition of redundant buildings at the station will also take place.
