Tottenham Court Road Station Upgrade Advanced Utilities Diversion and Ancillary Enabling Works
Valued at £22 million, the scheme involves the relocation of the majority of the Statutory Undertakers equipment at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street in Central London for London Underground Limited (LUL).
The enabling works are required as part of a major planned congestion relief scheme for the station which is due to commence in 2008. The upgrade incorporates advance utility diversions and ancillary enabling works, and is designed to meet future as well as current passenger demands, resolve congestion at the station, and meet requirements for an Eastern Ticket Hall for the Crossrail Project.
The works will involve identifying, co-ordinating and integrating all necessary utility companies' equipment, carrying out the necessary ancillary enabling works, temporary traffic and pedestrian diversions, and liaison with appropriate authorities.
