Ellesmere Port Town Centre Refurbishment
This project comprised the extensive upgrade and improvement of Ellesmere Port's town centre.
The area was refurbished using high quality street furniture. Feature lighting was added with planting / soft landscaping to give the town a more modern feel. Aesthetic enhancements were achieved through the use of very high quality hard landscaping including complex granite paving.
This was a logistically challenging scheme, necessitating extensive stakeholder consultation in order to maintain full accessibility for pedestrians, shoppers and vehicle deliveries to the busy town centre shopping complex.
The scheme won the Merseyside Groundwork 21 Buying Recycled Award 2005 and the Considerate Constructors Gold Award 2006.
