Station Road Underbridge, Cumbria
The project comprised reconstruction of an underbridge carrying the two-track Settle-Carlisle line over a public highway. The feasibility and design services were delivered by Birse Rail Consultancy. Due to the complexity of the site conditions, the design and construction focused on installation of the new deck by means of self-propelling trailers - in other words the new bridge was driven-in to its final position.
