Allen Gardens Art Hoardings Project
The East London Line (ELL) Project team worked with local stakeholders to develop a community art mural for site hoardings near to the GE19 and Allen Gardens site to reduce vandalism and increase community ownership and involvement in the project.
All ELL work sites are protected by hoardings to safeguard people who live and work nearby. Over the summer 40 local residents, from Bethnal Green North, Mile End and Globe Town and Weavers, part of Tower Hamlets Local Area Partnership 1 were involved in an exciting project to produce a community mural for the site hoardings at Pedley Street.
Materials for the project were kindly donated by a number of the East London Line project suppliers Greenhams Trading Ltd, A&E Russell Ltd, Travis Perkins and Bodyguard Workwear Ltd. BBCJV and My Paint Matters provided paint and arts materials for the project and Tower Hamlets Community Safety services provided additional refreshments for the participants.eUpdates
