How we work
Environmental limits
As customers increasingly consider environmental performance - from carbon footprints to ecology - in their purchasing decisions, a leadership position will give us competitive advantage.
Improving our own performance in areas such as carbon and waste reduction will reduce our costs. And we gain further advantage from our expertise in optimising the environmental performance of customers' projects and assets. Environmental factors are also creating new markets for us, from alternative energy generation and transmission to protecting assets from climate change.
For us, working within environmental limits means:
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change
- Reducing and managing waste
- Assessing and reducing our use of water
- Sourcing responsibly for lower environmental impact
- Protecting and enhancing ecological resources
