Considerate Constructors Award for M1 J6A-10 Scheme
22 April 2008
Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering's (BBCEL) M1 Junction 6A-10 Widening scheme has received a Silver Considerate Constructors Award.
Following a successful audit, BBCEL were presented with the award at a ceremony at Plaisterer's Hall in London.
Reporting on their findings, auditors found the project to "show a very high standard of compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Code of Practice".
Indeed, the M1 scheme scored a maximum 5 out of 5 in auditing categories based on environmental policies, and being a ‘good neighbour' - with the auditors indicating that "Exceptional Measures" had been taken by the project team to ensure compliance in both categories.
Commenting on the award, a representative for the client - the Highways Agency - said: "I am pleased to be associated with this group of people and a Considerate Constructors Scheme's award is recognition of the whole team's desire to deliver a quality product".
