Major Projects Division dominates at top highways awards event

Balfour Beatty Major Civil Engineering's, Major Projects Division (MPD) won 6 of the 10 "Delivering with Pride" awards at the Highways Agency's Major Projects Conference, including the overall "Best Project" and "Best Safety Project" for our M1 J6A-10 scheme. The M1 J6A-10 project was also awarded trophies for "Site safety (workforce)", "Environment", and "Customer (including Journey Time Reliability)".
The A3 Hindhead project won "Safety Innovation" - focusing on the design for safety in construction and maintenance innovations.
In addition Birse Civils won a "Target Zero" safety award for their A14 Haughley New Street to Stowmarket improvement project that had no RIDDOR accidents during the year up to July 2008.
This is a fantastic achievement by our project teams at M1 Junctions 6A - 10 and A3 Hindhead.
