Secretary of State opens widened M1 J6A-10

Not even a chilly January downpour could dampen the enthusiasm of the assembled crowd as Secretary of State for Transport, the Right Honorable Geoff Hoon, officially opened the newly-widened M1 Junction 6A to 10.
It was a proud day for everyone involved in this prestigious project, which was delivered on time and on budget with some 160,000 vehicles each day moving through the scheme with minimum delays and incidents.
Indeed, this successful project also set high standards for safety with the site team recently passing the 1.5 million man-hours barrier without a reportable (RIDDOR) accident.
