24 December 2010
The A46 Newark to Widmerpool Improvement Scheme has recorded the highest score in Balfour Beatty Major Civil Engineering history after a recent Considerate Constructor's Scheme (CCS) audit.
Achieving a stunning 39 points out of a possible 40, the scheme achieved a perfect score of five, indicating 'exceptional measures taken' in six of the eight categories.
This score marks an improvement on what was an excellent score of 38 last time around, demonstrating the project team's commitment to strive for continuous improvement.
The CCS Auditor called the scheme a "national flagship of best road building practice" and commented further that: "The project team are undoubtedly driving ever closer to delivering the goal of 'Britain's best built road' and in doing so they continue to develop, achieve and demonstrate truly outstanding levels of compliance within all embracing culture of consideration promoted by CCS."
