Major Highways is an industry leader in large design and construct, DBFO (design, build, finance, operate) and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) schemes within its principal geographical markets of England, Wales and Ireland.

The Highways Agency is our principal client, an executive agency for the Department of Transport due to its programme of capital schemes, including major motorway widening contracts, plus packages of road improvement schemes and bypasses.

We have a leading market portfolio which includes:

A5 Western Transport Corridor ECI - Our joint venture is working on the northernmost section of new dual carriageway between Derry and Strabane, part of a 90km ECI scheme in Northern Ireland.

A46 Newark to Widmerpool Improvement - An ECI scheme which will provide a new dual carriageway linking Leicester and Nottingham with Newark and Lincoln.

M25 Motorway Widening Scheme - Working in joint venture, this DBFO scheme will deliver a four lane carriageway at Junctions 16 to 23, 27 to 30 and the A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel.

A3 Hindhead Tunnel Scheme - Major Highways is constructing this ECI road improvement scheme that is centred on a 2 km tunnel in the highly environmentally sensitive Surrey Hills.

A421 Improvements M1 Junction 13 to Bedford - Under ECI contract, this project will accommodate a new 13km dual carriageway and re-modelled junction from the M1.

M1 Junction 6A to 10 - In joint venture, Major Highways widened 17km of this heavily congested area of the M1 from the M25 to Luton.
